2 Bay Area Expansion Product Manager positions - Genetic Analysis/Bioinformatics

We have 2 expansion product manager positions for a young, fast growing genetic analysis company on the mid peninsula. This is an aggressive little company that's well funded with solid management. One position will manage their analysis tools software and the other is specifically targeting oncology bioinformatics. I'm looking for people working in genetic analysis, experienced with manipulating large multidimensional complete human genome datasets. An advanced degree in genetics, bioinformatics or related discipline is required. Experience in working in a start up environment would be most helpful.

Both product managers will work with the sales and software development teams to develop and execute strategy, plus partner with the commercial bioinformatics and open source community. Broad knowledge-base and recent experience in software development processes, bioinformatics analysis and tools, and partner management is vital.

Reno based Applications Specialist, Liquid Handling/Lab Robotics

We are seeking an experienced laboratory applications specialist to create and validate applications on complex laboratory automation equipment. The person hired will do post sales support in-house and at customer sites to include programming of specific applications, training at installation, telephone support for customer technical questions, create instrument applications programs by interpreting customer supplied procedures and preparing applications software routine. This is an excellent entry level career step off the bench and into a fast-paced, customer-focused industry position.

Requirements:

  • 3 or more years in a technical bench position developing and/or validating applications on a lab automation platform.
  • Must have the ability to program methods using user software and service software to test automation
  • Must have at least a BS degree in a solid lab based science - Biology, Chemistry, Biochem, etc.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to travel international and domestically on short notice, approximately 50% of time, in the Pac NW and up into British Colombia.

Bay Area or San Diego based Clinical LC/MS Sales Specialist

Expansion sales position I focused on LC/MS instruments sold into the clinical (hospital) market. This is a very technical sale that involves direct customer selling as well as business development via training (both customer and of other reps) and seminars.
  • Requires - solid, hands-on LC/MS bench experience - where you've been responsible for the care, feeding, troubleshooting and maybe even a bit or repair,so you understand more than just how to feed it samples.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 yrs field sales experience or substantial field based tech support experience in a sales environment.
  • Strongly prefer experience in a clinical diagnostics lab setting.

S.F or L.A based, Expansion Field Applications Chromatography Specialist, LC/MS or IC

International mfg of state-of-the-art chromatography equipment is adding a west coast field based applications specialist to provide post sales support. This person will provide top level troubleshooting on complex applications issues, provide internal and customer training, participate in developing and refining the technical documentation and service manuals and generally be the interface between Product Management, Applications, Engineering, R&D, Repair and Manufacturing to achieve resolution on difficult problems.

  • Required - a solid understanding of chromatography theory and application.
  • Required - In depth lab based troubleshooting experience using IC and/or HPLC.
  • Required - Excellent technical writing and presentation skills
  • Required Minimum BS in chemistry or biochemistry (advanced degree preferred) + at least 2 yrs lab experience post college.
  • Required - The ability to travel up to 50% across the western region
  • Required - valid drivers license and passport.
  • Preferred - Experience in Technical Support, Service and/or Training.
