Analytical Chemistry Field Service Engineers

We work with most of the top manufacturers of analytical chemistry instruments (HPLC, LC/MS, SPE, IEX, Lab Robotics, Spectroscopy) and we are regularly being asked to recruit Field Service Engineers who have experience on these instruments. If you have at least 3 years in a position where you are responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of this class of equipment, whether you are the in-house "Mr. or Ms. Fixit" or hold the formal title of service or repair technician, and you are interested in exploring what the next step in your career could be, we would like to talk to you.

S.F. based (Peninsula or South Bay) Product Manager, Bioinformatics/Scientific Software

Expansion Product manager position with a major Bay Area Biotech Instrument manufacturer to handle their flagship Bioinformatics/Data Acquisition/Data Analysis software. This is a well-established product line with over 100,000 users worldwide. You will be responsible for full life cycle management of existing and novel software products. Software growth is a primary target of the parent corporation and so this position will be a highly visible position within the company. Excellent career growth potential. We are looking for an attitude of focus, strategy, an understanding of business metrics and a drive to excel.

Our ideal candidate has a strong bioinformatics/lab-based data acquisition software experience coupled with several years successful product management experience in the laboratory/life science market or potentially from the clinical/healthcare side.

Requirements:

  • Hands-on knowledge through use of Bioinformatics/Data Acquisition/Data Analysis software through at least 2 to 3 years on the bench in a life science research environment where you were using this software as a primary responsibility

  • Product Management experience. Might consider someone right out of sales or applications but you would need to demonstrate a strong understanding of business and marketing.

  • Minimum of a 4 year degree, either in a strong laboratory life science like Molecular Biology or in Bioinformatics or Software.

  • An understanding of basic sales and marketing business metrics and a demonstrable track record in achieving/overachieving goals.

  • The ability to travel up to 10% (domestic).

    U.S.-based European Distribution Manager, Base to $110K + commission

    Our client is a small, multinational manufacturer of high-quality antibody reagents. Due to growth they are seeking to hire a European Distribution Manager to be based in the U.S., to manage the sales, marketing and strategy for the Europe market.

    Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in the Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or similar would be preferred.

  • 3 or more years commercial experience (sales, product management, business development) in the research laboratory market.

  • Experience with European sales is required. Experience with European channel management is strongly preferred.

  • The ability to travel overnight on business for several weeks at a stretch is required as the person hired will travel to and work in Europe several times a year.

    Field Applications Scientist positions - S.F. Bay Area and Mid Atlantic based. qPCR, NGS, Protein

    Well-known manufacturer of scientific and analytical laboratory instruments is expanding their field support group with 2 additional FAS positions. These positions will provide field based technical expertise, support and training to new and existing customers in the use of the company's instruments.

    Requirements:

  • Masters or Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or closely related field

  • Existing experience as a Field Applications Scientist is preferred but a combination of bench-level support and field applications might be considered.

  • Minimum 2 years hands-on bench experience in real-time PCR for gene expression, genotyping, Sanger and NextGen sequencing, and/or protein purification.

  • Experience in a training/tech support role focused on protein separation, RT-PCR or lab robotics would be most helpful.

  • Knowledge of Translational Science, Biotech, and/or Pharmaceutical markets

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is required.

  • Overnight business travel 3 or more nights/ week on average.

    Western Region Sales Rep Structural Biology

    Sales of protein tools focused primarily into the Structural Biology community. Our client is a U.S.-based company that is in an aggressive growth mode. This is an expansion position selling membrane protein, protein purification and crystallography products. Can be based in either San Diego or the S.F. Bay Area. Attitude and the ability to drive sales is essential. Experience with sales process tools (Miller Heiman) is a definite plus. Overnight business travel across the west on a regular basis.
